Sick....again!

Well, we are having our first of (I hope) very, very few bouts of pink eye. Elizabeth has glassy eyes yesterday with a cold. So she still went to school, but when she woke up this a.m., she told me she could hardly open her eyes...Of course, her eyes were filled with gook and were glassy and a bit redish...But as the day went on, more gook and the glassy and reddish look had not gone away. Went to the Afte Hours and boom, what I already knew...

So she is infected 24 to 48 hours....I already made the decision that she'll stay home on Monday...Lets just hope Jillian stays well....considering she was scratching her eyes right before she went to bed.....

If Elizabeth is on antibiotic drops for her conjuntivitis, she'll no longer be contagious after 24 hours. You don't have to keep her home from school on Monday if she'd rather go.

On Webmd, they do say 24 hours after the drops...BUT, the only problem is that the infections is coming out of everywhere....Knowing that this is bacteria, her nose is horrible, but of course, only treating the eyes, I agree with the doctor that 24 - 48 hours might be better...I know I just mentioned the pink eye, but she's had a fever and various colors are coming out of her nose too...TMI...LOL!

Oh dear! I hope it doesn't go to anyone else and hope she kicks it quickly. I am sorry to hear about it! Rest up - you don't want to catch that either!!!!

If she's got "various colors" coming out of her nose and is running a fever, she probably has the bacteria in her head somewhere and not just in her eyes. If she's not on some sort of oral antibiotics for that, I'd take her to her pediatrician on Monday. Eye drops definitely won't clear up an infection that's not in her eyes.
