Borders & Park

Today (with George gone) I wanted to make sure I kept the girls busy. I did go to the gym this a.m., which they usually enjoy going to the Kids Club. After that, I had 1/2 an hour to spare for a quick shower and back out the door for Dance. This week the parents were able to observe the dancers more than just looking through the window. This was during the last 15 minutes of the class, so Jillian and I head to get gas and to Publix for a few items. After all that, we came home had lunch and I did a quick swap with putting clothes from the washer to the dryer and we were out the door again.

I had decided early this week to take the girls to a Kids Party at the Borders in Brandon. My girlfriend, her 3 boys and us.....what a HUGE mistake. The place in the kids section was packed...The planned activities for the different age groups did not go on. Instead, some stories were read, color pages were available, crayons, pipe cleaners, sissors and construction paper. There was no structure like the ad said 0-5 yrs, 6-8 yrs then 9 and up....Nothing like that...I was annoyed that there was nothing even close to that...Instead, it was a free-for-all for the kids. Actually, the kids seemed good, but being so many and unorganized...URGH!!...We stayed over an hour and then we decided to take the kids to All Person's. That worked out good. But let me say this, why would you have a birthday party at a park like All Person's (and for those who do not know, its a nice size park, very, very kid friendly and lots for kids to play on), have to rent a bouncy house. To me, it does not make sense. I know the park doesn't cost anything, but in my head, the park is the fun park and in place of a bouncy thing. Poor Jillian...she loves those things and I had to tell her many times, we could not play in it. So my little girl, being hot and tired anyway, was not happy...All she wanted was some juice, which she drank. She did a bit of whinning, of course, but I was able to bring her back now and then...

Finally, we headed home around 5:15 and the girls went straight in the bath...Now they are set for church in the a.m. Jillian was asleep by 7:00 and Elizabeth, well I let her watch some TV on non-school nights, but she was asleep by 7:30ish. So I have the night to myself to do what, work a bit and laundry! There's not even anything worth watching on TV...Right now, I have on Seinfeld on one of the Demand stations!!

But even though Borders was not what I expected and the bouncy thing irritated me for some unknown reason, I had a great day with my girlies!!!!

Any hoot, time to fold towels!

Where did this week go???

I have to officially admit, life as a mom, wife, co-worker, etc. has became crazy...but in good ways.

Of course, I still work full-time from home. We are also dealing with Jillian's cough, not quite the way it was, but it still is. I am involved in the PTA at Elizabeth's School, I have Limona's Parent Association which I am secretary of and this is our busiest time of year, I am now planning my Daisy troop. We have our first meeting on October 3rd and I am very excited. I recruit some more girls and there are going to be a few girls that all went to Preschool together...yes, the alumi meets again.

But all this is fun...I love the stress of running here or there, planning this or that and getting the normal day-to-day things done. George went away today and will be back on Sunday. He is in Boca Raton at a training session for work. This is good for him....he is such a support and a true 1/2 of this household and that he can use a little break. Of course, its two days of 10 hour classes or exhibits, but there will be time for dinner, maybe even the beach...Hope you are having fun, honey! We miss ya!

I did a double class at the gym today, with my fav instructor...Hopefully I will not pay for it tomorrow or Sat...(it can take 2 days to feel it!)

Tomorrow Jillian has a followup chest X-ray. This is to followup with the bronchitis and the cough. Her lungs sound clear, so we'll just get this done to play it safe...

Hope all the fellow bloggers are having a good week and ready for a beautiful, gorgeous weekend that is suppose to be!!!

Sunday, Sunday

Well, I need to brag...And I am only bragging because I've discussed different issues I've had with Jillian and her behavior.

As I've posted, she loves to test me and my husband and pull our strings. She is a very smart little girl, but also a little smart alec....Today was her first performance at church in the choir and because I am prejuidice, she was absolutely adorable..She sang with the choir and danced around with one of her friends...And then, a member of the church tells a story to the kids before they go to Sunday School. Well after today's story, the woman asked for a volunteer to say a prayer in using the microphone. Guess who volunteered and was picked.....yep, my Jilly. She didn't know what she raised her hand to so she had to be guided, but when she said "Dear Jesus", the tears just flowed from my eyes. There is something about little ones and their little voices speaking of God or Jesus that sets me off...

Well here are some pics of the girls, before church and Jillian up singing...Hope you enjoy!!!

AAAHHHH, a relaxing weekend...

Yep, exactly what my title reads. Let me back up, last night was Open House at Jillian's school. Nothing much to report since I am at the school at least 3 days. I went earlier to set up and brought Elizabeth with me. Jillian feel asleep right before George was ready to leave with her and then feel asleep again in the car. When she walked in the school, I really did not think she would make it...But she started waking up, after a cookie or two and boom, she was the Jilly I know and love. We have some behavior issues to work on but nothing too serious it seems...More attention getting behavioral and the behavior when our little ones love to test us....

Back to the gym today and the rib is much better already. Oh, backup again...Jillian is performing her for choir performance tomorrow morning in church. She is not a dressy girl, but I wanted to get her something new and just ran to Walmart for a cheaper dress, just to wear for tomorrow. Walmart has absolutely crap and we ended up getting nothing, but two Halloween costumes and the new Barbie movie....heehee! So Jilly and I went to the gym and George dropped Elizabeth off at dance....The after all that, I mowed the front lawn, while my dear hubby worked on the wall around our pool and the girls played...We all met up and I stayed outside playing with the girlies and swimming. George had a class to work at for the Rolling Pin tonight, so I needed and wanted to get the girls nice and tired. Well its 9:00 and Jilly has been asleep for almost 2 hours...and well Elizabeth is still up watching Camp Rock. Hell, she's good at going to sleep, a special treat for her!!! (Not that she hasn't seen it 3 or 4 times already!!!)

Go Rays, although I am a true Yankee fan!!!

School Days...........

Well today was another day at the Book Fair, after I made a dash to Limona to take care of some business. I didn't spend as much as I could of, but did enough. Elizabeth was so proud to come in and have me there...I just love that feeling...

Tonight, there was a parent conference at Elizabeth's school. Luckily, (with George working tonight) we did not have to go. Her teacher scheduled the parents that really needed to be aware of what their children were doing in class. I saw her teacher today and she told me that she is required to have 2 meetings for the year....She said Elizabeth is doing great academically and behavior, there is no problem. So probably a quick meeting before school starts is all we'll need to have....

Tonight we went to a Girl Scout meeting....More like a intro etc. So being the person I am, yes, I am now a Troop Leader for Daisies...Yep, I took the plunge. Wait until George hears. He spent 10+ years as a Troop Leader/Master in Boy Scouts...and now he'll be exposed to the other gender. The neat part is I recruited the Chairperson of the Parent's Association at LVC. So we are together for the PA and now our Troop. How exciting this will be.....also a bit nerve-racking. But I do have a meeting at Nativity on Monday evening, just to go over the basics...Let the fun begin!!!

Busy, Wacky Wednesday

Boy, for someone who works full-time from home, I feel like I hardly got anything done...

After dropping Jillian off, I volunteered at Elizabeth's school to work the Book Fair, which I will be doing again tomorrow. Since I have such a love for books, its the perfect place for me...not my credit card, but for me...(I do have a little pile I started today). Tomorrow, I will have Elizabeth's teacher send her down when I am there so she can pick out a few books. Heck, the girl's nose is always in a book, she's reading way above her grade level, why wouldn't I encourage it....

Then the girl's had their doctor's appt., Jillian had choir and Elizabeth had dance....Oh yea, and still had a homework assignment given to her today....Oh boy...But everything ran smooth...

Jillian has her first performance on Sunday during our 10:45 service. I hope she enjoys it...She seems to be enjoying choir and it is so good for her to have something other than Karate since Elizabeth does so much more...

Tomorrow, we are checking out Girl Scouts, which for her, would be Daisy's. Tomorrow is an information meeting. I cannot extend myself more a be a leader. But I hope being a helper will help...LOL!

Well, its time for a little treat for a snack...and since we've been running today, there is no guilt here!!!

Things Are Settling Down

Well, I received the results of Jilly's bloodwork. Thankfully, everything is perfect...The only exception is her immune system. Her immune system is extremely low and does not appear to be completely mature for her age. So tomorrow, she needs a booster vaccination to help this along. This also explains so much illness my poor little girl has had....

Since we are going for that vaccination tomorrow, both girls will be getting their flu vaccination tomorrow.

Today, I was able to get my hair done and then just came home from dinner with friends. Tomorrow and Thursday, I will be working at the Book Fair at Elizabeth's school and Friday, Picture Day and Jillian's school. So besides my day-to-day activity, its just a busy week. But for now, its time to go and lay down and read...I feel like a little unwinding time is in needed!!!

Gotta Love The Weekend

Well things in my house have kind of leveled out. Jillian, still coughing, not as often, but just as hard. Waiting on the bloodwork results, which I hope to have early next week.

George seems to be all better, tired from an exhausting week at work. They were one person down because of vacation and like most businesses, doesn't it figure you get more busy. But he made it through the week.

I'm feeling better. Still have the hard cough, but like Jilly, there is much further time between. I did call my doctor to get a refill on my inhaler. I do not need to see the doctor again, but would like to have a refill to deal with the cough. I did start going back to the gym, which I am doing slowly because of the rib, the cough, and not exercising in a few weeks.

Today was a big family type of day. I went to the gym, took the girlies and then Elizabeth had dance. The girls played in the sandbox and swam for a good part of the afternoon. Both girls were exhausted. Elizabeth and I had a birthday party at Ace Golf this evening (from 6-8). I have to say to anyone that reads this, I highly recommend a party there. EVERYTHING is included, from pizza and the cake and soda, paper products and unlimited golf. The entire party cost less than parties I throw. Unfortunately with Elizabeth's BD being the end of May, it would be way to hot. George had a date last night for dinner with Elizabeth and then ice cream with Jillian tonight. So they both had Daddy to themselves. Hey, we haven't had a "date" in a while..Hmmm! LOL!

Tomorrow is church and the race, with flipping back to football for George. We'll probably take the girls out again to play.

Its 10:00 and I am still doing laundry. I think I did one load this past week, which is highly unusual. But today and tonight, had 2 loads of colors, 2 loads of towels and then my whites. I do not know how we accumulated so many towels this week. At least we are a clean family :)

Today Followup for Jilly

I brought Jillian back to the doctor because of this cough...Basically they tell me she looks good and what they really believe now is that its allergies. They want me to start her on Claritin, which Elizabeth already takes.

While I was there, I was semi-frustrated and upset how long it is taking for our little girl to feel better. She is due for her 4 yr check the end of October. I spoke to the doctor and told her that I know in my heart of hearts, she's fine...but I want to make sure we do a full blood collection, all tests for allergies (which is just the screening) her immunity level to make sure that had progressed from birth, white and red blood cell count, etc. The whole package. She was willing to do it right then, today. I said lets do it. I was so thrilled that she understood my concerns and knows that I want to rule out any slight possible chance of anything else going on with her that can be detected through bloodwork. I can speak from experience, our previous pediatrician would of challenged me hard on that one.

So we did the bloodwork and that was a big tramatic for her, so she got her lollipop and stayed home with me. Although by 11:00, I wished she was at school, it was good for her to have that alone time, without much distraction and just chill.

So the cough is still there, I gave her a Claritin (since she cannot have any histamines (sp?) in her for the bloodwork) and we will take it from here...

Now our next visit....Need to leave for USF for other issues...Bye for now!!!

What a Beautiful Saturday...

Well with everything going on recently, I really, really enjoyed this beautiful day we had today. It was nice a warm, but hardly any humidity. Love it, love it and love it...

Even though I am still dealing with the cough, I need to keep going. Elizabeth had dance and I even mowed the lawn for George. George still needs to take it easy, although he is getting the itch and did clean my car today. It looks like a brand new vehicle...Almost makes me not want to allow children in it...LOL! But we cannot avoid that one!!

My niece got married today in New York. It would of been nice to have been able to go up there, but we really couldn't. This is George's brother's daughter. But we called today and she is extremely excited. With the weather up North, it would of been horrible to be up there. I wish all my family and friends a safe weekend from Hanna!!!

Temple Household Take (whatever # we are on)

Well here is what is happening....My X-Ray definitely showed a clear crack in one of my ribs. This will heal on its own, obviously. The medicine has definitely helped me function through the day, but counteract that with the cough, I am usually exhausted at night.

George has a pneumonia again. When will this end you ask? Exactly my question. I have to be quite honest, what if he never did get over having the pneumonia? He possibly could of had it since June/July but the symptons hiden due to the med's....He was home the rest of the day today...I originally drove him to work, then we went to the doctor, X-ray, and picked Jillian up all because he was way to dizzy this a.m. But my husband is the type to downsize health issues with him and insisted that he goes to work. But there was no way I would let him drop Elizabeth off, nor drive period. He was home the rest of today and tomorrow.

The weekend plan consists of Elizabeth having 45 minutes of dance on Saturday and NOTHING else...No inside work, no outside work....no work...just rest and relaxation!!!

Well, Mommy Even Does Stupid Things

I finally went to the doctor today and yep, I have bronchitis/sinusitus....To the boot, last night around 2:00, I had the worse coughing attack through all this....After about an hour, fell back to sleep. When I woke up this morning, to my hubby thinking we all overslept, I was in such pain in my back, right behind my lung. I took something for it and it took the edge off, but after the doctor appt. today, they are sending me for a chest X-ray...Not due to the sickness, but because she thinks I either cracked, broken or fractured a rib from coughing so hard...Can you FREAKIN' believe that. It hurts to cough or take a deep breath. I had broken or cracked two ribs before, about 15 years ago when I slipped coming out of the tub....BUT FROM COUGHING...LOL! If it didn't hurt, I would laugh hysterically at myself.

Girls are still coughing and hubby is still debating running away....just for a few days...HAHA! No, he really is a great husband...He totally had taken charge this a.m. getting the girls ready for school and tonight, with dinner, bedtime, etc...He really is a husband/dad and mom all rolled into one...I have to say, I am the lucky one!!!
