Well its Wednesday...I had another rough day in regards to Jillian...But she had an easier time at VBS. Have I ever said how much I love Linda (Director at LVC) and how much I trust and enjoy helping all area's of LVC (school and church). That's all I will say about that without going into every little detail.
Elizabeth had a pretty good day. I am glad that the rough days with her are far and few!
Today was a very productive work day. Tomorrow should actually be better.

Its Only Tuesday????
UPDATE: I must say that last night after coming home for VBS, Elizabeth was extremely sweet and was very attentive to a talk we had. Not sweet in a "I can get over Mommy way" but sat and we talked...(Not about the store incident) but a general talk from the day.
I do not know why, but it feels like it should be Thursday already. Possibly because both girls started VBS at Limona last night, which makes the day extra long. VBS at Limona includes dinner and runs from 5:30 - 8:15. Dinner is optional which is 5:30-6:00. Last night I was able to go to the gym, but kept my cell close by. I was concerned with Jillian, but no calls and she did very well. Tonight my husband and I were going to go to the gym, but instead we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Love their lettuce wraps!!!
Today I also had another followup appt. for Elizabeth with her ENT. Looks like we are still holding off on the tubes. She has an outer ear infection, which they really want to treat first. But the specialist did see some improvement. We'll see again in 2 weeks!
Both girls have been under my skin today. With Elizabeth, there is a lot of asking to do something, me saying no with a clear explanation and her just going ahead and doing it anyway. There was also an incident today with George going to Publix for me, taking both girls and Jillian trying to grab and take M&M's. George took them away only to go in the parking lot and find that Elizabeth took a pack and put them in her little purse. Normally she does not bring it, but she did today. George handled it appropriately by bring the girls back in the store and having Elizabeth hand them to the woman at the courtesy desk. I am not happy about this, but I am not suppose to know about it. George handled it and left it up to Elizabeth to tell me. She chose not to, which is fine. As long as one of us were 110% involved. I've always respected my husband, but with this, I have the highest respect for him, knowing that he is a man that wants to handle things and not wait for me to. He is 100% involved in helping and decision making....I have a gem for a guy!
Anyway, at 6 yrs old, she knows not to take things that do not belong to her and knows perfectly well not to take anything from a store. Now whether she saw Jillian do it and thought she could, that's beside the point. I am concerned about this change of behavior today and only can go to bed and know that tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully I will see a complete turn around. As far as the "stealing" part, I was not there but can clearly see that whatever transpired with George and her, made a impression on her....

Aaahhhhh, a relaxing day......
We've had a very, very busy few days here. and I am glad that today is Sunday, and absolutely no schedule and nothing on the plate...except the pool with the family, the race...oh yea, and leftovers.
After completely 6 weeks of Summer Camp for Jillian and a week long Summer Camp for Elizabeth at the Rolling Pin as well as the Oklahoma production, we needed to have some family time and entertain.
Friday, we had a friend over all day playing with the girls. She is someone we know through Church and was ok Oklahoma also. Friday night we had a friend over with her 2 daughters, one being 3 months old...Ava...Elizabeth was thrilled to finally hold the baby and even feed the baby. She did not ask if I was going to have another baby....we've already had that talk...LOL! But here she is....
The on Saturday, we had a birthday/pool party at a friend's house and company again for dinner. This family has 3 son's, one Jacob that Elizabeth was in preschool with, one Carson that Jillian is in preschool with and then Aidan, who happens to be turning 3 months old on Wednesday....Again, Elizabeth was thrilled....
Then I had to take some pictures of Jacob and Elizabeth...Looks like they are playing Mommy and Daddy to Aidan....(Elizabeth did say that she will be marrying Jacob....Oy Vey!) I can't leave out Jillian and Carson, who played together during the whole visit and hardly left each other's side....
I can't leave out a picture and a mention to hubby's dinner last night...Chicken Saute' Provencal with Angel Hair pasta and a WARM Carrot & Broccoli salad...with Garlic Baquettes..
Finally, it was time for bed and to watch the premiere of Hannah Montana's 3-D concert. I taped it too...Elizabeth would never had stayed awake for all that....But in the a.m., she wanted to be "cool" and where her sleeping mask that came with her new nightgown. Psst, she happened to be awake for this pic!!!

GREAT SALE DAY!
Its a great day when I can go shopping and find sales at almost every place I went...First stop, Kohl's for Elizabeth's backpack....40% off...And they had a nice selection, not just a few left....Then over to Penny's, which I never go wrong. I went there for some more gym clothes and went upstairs and boom, a rack of summer dresses and outfits for $4.97 a piece. Even the 2 piece outfits...How cool was that!!! Then over to another table and I picked up at least 10 shirts for Jillian, the Okie Dokie brand, for $1.99 each! Not just T-Shirts, but the shirts little girls wear!!! It was a great, great day and trip to the mall!

School is around the corner........
As most of us are feeling, except for my NY and NJ friends, school is only less than 4 weeks away. I feel it with both girl's summer camp programs coming to an end tomorrow. At least we still have VBS to look forward to next week.
Today I met some friends for lunch at the California Kitchen and did some school shopping. Spent some $$$ at the Children's Place with replacing some uniforms for Elizabeth and picking up a few new ones. Plus new socks, underwear and things for Jillian. Minus shoes, I would say we are set with clothes!!! Oh yea, and a new lunchbox for Elizabeth.....
Hopefully this weekend, I will get Elizabeth a new backpack and the bulk of shopping will be done. Florida is not offering their tax-free holiday, but even if they had, I like to get things done. I figured out last year that I would only save about $4.00, if that with tax free. Although nowadays, $4.00 is good, peace of mind is better here!
Well need to get ready for the gym...I am also nursing a terrible sore throat...the kind that even drinking liquids hurt....But no fever, for now....so I am not slowing down.....

Water Fun!
We spent the weekend (basically) with the Jack Family! Had a ball....First, on Saturday at our house (which I forgot to take pics) and yesterday at their house....The girls had a ball playing with the boys! I am waiting for pictures, but even both girls jumped off with the Dad, their tiny cliff....Hell, even I jumped...LOL!
Here are some pictures of the gang!

Getting back to some NORMALCY
Last night was closing night for Oklahoma. It is bittersweet....Sad because we spent so much time with other cast members and also nice to have "free time" again...for both Elizabeth and I. She did start crying last night and I could not help but tear up myself when I saw that. She made some great friends there and the adults took to some of the kids too. Elizabeth actually has a set of adopted parents...LOL!
After the final curtain call, there was a cast party. They had pizza and ice cream and presented everyone with a picture in a frame made for each member of the cast. They also received a certificate and a medal. By that time, it was midnight and all the kids seemed wired and ready to go. There were a few kids that must be used to the late nights because they looked like they could go for a few more hours...Maybe it was a 2nd wind or something.
I personally did not go to bed until 1:30 which is extremely late for me. Once I came home and got Elizabeth to bed, I was a bit wired and sat on the computer for about 1/2 an hour and then read for another 1/2 an hour. Today is going to be one of those enjoyable, lazy day...Only if it wasn't so nice out though!!!
Starting tomorrow, we will be back on a "normal" schedule and both Elizabeth and I will be home at night. Hopefully this will also help Jillian...But quite honestly, when Jillian is one on one with either my husband or I, she is better than all four of us together. I think the girls get each other excited, etc.
So I am posting some pictures from last night...Some of the cast member's with Elizabeth.

Why bother..........
I do not even know why I am bothering posting a blog entry right now....I think just because I need to get some of my stress out in front of me...which hopefully I'll read a month from now and say, we've come a long way.
Over the last week it seems that Jillian's behavior has taken a turn again. It is very difficult....Time outs do not work, taking things away, does not work and all my discipline habits seem to not make a difference to her. Everything seems to be a joke with her. Summer camp is becoming difficult because she wants to do what she wants, when she wants and only IF she wants. I thought about pulling her, but reluctantly, brought her today. Even her teacher, who I think does a wonderful job, told me don't break her routine...LVC has been great and continues to work with her....This stress is coming out at home, between George and I. I swore that I would not let either one of my girls cause arguements between my husband and I, but we are starting to bicker over Jillian's behavior and the handling of it. Thankfully, we regroup and start over and continue to work together...It seems that the past few days, tears come at any given moment.
Elizabeth can display unacceptable attitudes, etc. I am not sure if she is going through a phase or if Jillian's negative behavior, that is grabbing our attention a lot of the time, is attracting Elizabeth's behavior. We've had 2 playdates this past week, Elizabeth alone with a friend and then the other one, with 2 friends and she was not always the pleasant hostess. She was upset if she was not the center of attention or if someone did not want to play a game she wanted to. I explained to her that she is the hostess...Not all the time all kids are going to want to do the same thing and she should say, Ok, I'll play "Break the Ice" and then can we all play "Monoploy"....I also told her that she needs to treat her friends as she would want to be treated...
I know I am going on and on....But the past couple of days...Mainly this week, has been hell! And tonight we start Oklahoma again for ONLY 3 nights..Thank God! I think I need to a quick getaway...Like maybe I should escape to the beach....by myself! LOL!

Rainy Sunday
Well I am so so happy its Sunday. Elizabeth has had performances since Thursday and one today, but a matinee. Did I ever say how much of a homebody I can be and miss just being in PJ's at 6:00 and playing with the kids or even trying to get Jillian to sleep....just to have quietness. Although this ride has been fun, I am looking forward to this evening and the next 2 days. Elizabeth will be back for rehearsal (refresher) on Wed and then close out with 3 evening performances. She wants to do the next play which is Into the Woods. I have to see because school would be in session and I need to find out what is required regarding late nights...I cannot have her go to 1st grade coming home late...NO WAY!!!
George will be seeing the show for the 1st time this afternoon. We have a sitter for Jillian because she would not sit there for 3 hours... Hopefully I can get back to the gym this week too!!! I've been highly motivated and would hate to lose that.
On another note, Elizabeth is highly upset with all this rain. She wanted to know why we are getting so much rain and all I could say was "That's Florida....its our rainy season". But in saying that, we are getting a lot more morning rain or early afternoon instead of the traditional 4:00ish storms. It would be nice to have some more nice weather for the earlier part of the days. Hard to believe how dry were were 2 months ago and how wet everything is...I guess we can never be 100% happy...heehee!!! But I do love a rainy day sometimes...especially on the weekend when there are no plans, just a lazy, game playing day!!!
Hope all is well with my friends that read the blog....

Sad News
In addition to our outting last night, I saw a woman I knew from Elizabeth's original Dance Studio. Elizabeth used to enjoy playing with this little girl Molly when they had class together. During Elizabeth's last year there, I began talking to the mom more. She had a little boy Jillian's age...a little boy with a heart problem. I learned that he passed away on Wednesday. Even though I do hold my faith seriously, I cannot help myself but to question why God had to give this family a child that was ill and also to take him at such an early age. It really makes me feel sad and was really on my mind during the play.
I suppose that the mom and dad feel blessed to have him even for the shortest time. I am sure he was such a blessing that a mom in that situation hopefully can focus on the positive and the joy her little one brought her......
I hope he is at peace and Mom, Dad, siblings and all that love him find peace in their hearts...

Opening Night
It was amazing! After months of rehearsal, seeing the entire play come together, that did not even come close to what I saw last night. Of course my highlight was Elizabeth, but the play in general, was marvelous. The singing was perfect to me, funny and just the entire night was wonderful....
There is a website www.mypapernow.com that has pictures of the final dress rehearsal. Under newly posted! There are over 100 pictures and if anyone is interested, you might notice someone you know!!!

The Temple's in a Nutshell
My girls are growing so much, hitting new milestones, making great childhood memories. (I know that Jillian will not remember much compared to Elizabeth)
Elizabeth finally has a loose tooth. She pointed this out to me about a week and a half ago and the one next to it is getting loose too. I am wondering when it will come out...She is excited, but once that tooth comes out, the newness will be gone. She has been looking forward to this for a long time, ever since one of her friends lost her tooth over our house. As I have said, she is in a play, that opens tonight. Personally, I am also looking forward to the next two weeks to be over, but we are enjoying the ride. I am not a stage-type mom. The stage-type mom's I know put every minute, every dollar into their child, pushes them to try to succeed in the entertaining profession, and that is not me. I've met some wonderful people at Stage Door and mom's that are exactly what I would clarify as a stage-mom. For some, the image is not as negative as I once had, but still not for me...I will truly miss these people. (Elizabeth already is showing interest in the Christmas show)...OY VEY! When Elizabeth is finished with Oklahoma, she has another week of summer camp at the Rolling Pin.
Jillian has been very patient with Elizabeth and I being out in the evening. She has had complete success wearing underwear to summer camp and although it's a little later than most, she's had a difficult year plus some. So success with this is very big to us and to her, no matter what age.... Her success with speech and understanding her is remarkable. Her imagination is enjoyable to watch. Behavorial, well we cannot be 100% successful in everything, what would we still strive for...LOL!
I have had success with my exercising and weightloss. Although this week, the gym is completely out with other commitments, I still find the time to maintain the best I can....Did I say we are splurging tonight and getting McDonalds...LOL! My husband and I have cleaned out things, painted and built things for the house.
Both girls are going to be attending VBS the end of the month and George and I might actually get time to go to dinner...Hopefully, we will use the time for ourselves than to concentrate on more things in the house.
I have noticed that when I set my goals for a reasonable amount of time, they are attainable. Its when I set standards over-the-limit that I have a difficult and frustrating time.
So can life get any better....For me, not really...it is what it is suppose to be...for now!!!!

A Sneaky Oklahoma Plug
This is a "sneaky" plug for the upcoming performance of Oklahoma @ Limona Village Chapel's Fellowship Hall.
Elizabeth is in the play along with a few other members from the Church. (She's the youngest and smallest!) This production is not a production through Limona, rather through Stage Door Productions.
Normally, kids are not part of the original Oklahoma, but Stage Door has been kind enough to implement children into their show..
Show dates are July 10th, 11th & 12th @ 8:00 p.m. with a matinee @ 3:00 p.m. on the 13th and July 17th, 18th & 19th, also @ 8:00 p.m.
Tickets are $12.00 for adults
Seniors & Students $10.00
(I believe under 5 are free) You can save $2.00 if you have a discount ticket from the 4th of July Parade!!!
The cast, both young and older have been putting in long hours and hard work over the past 2 months...I have to say, I never had an interest in this show until I saw their productions. Of course I am bias, but the story and how it is written is entertaining!
So if you are interested, you should check it out....
Take care!!!

The Holiday Weekend Continues
Well my husband and I were up at 5:30 this a.m. with Jillian...Why??? Who knows...I think she was exhausted from yesterday, fell asleep early and just woke up early. So we had a head start on doing some projects in our room. Since we painted and reconstructed 2 closets, we had stored a lot of things in our bedroom. Today was cleaning out day...Whoohoo! We are finally starting to get our room back.
I did a double class at the gym today and the kids enjoyed seeing their friends at the Kids Club. Luckily, Jillian took a early nap from waking up early and by time she woke up, she had a late lunch and all four of us went in the pool for about an hour or a little bit more.
Hubby and I made dinner tonight together, pork marsala with fettucine, played a game with the girls and finished all my laundry. Now I am just watching my race, which should be over in about 1/2 an hour.
Tomororw, last day of a 3 day weekend and OMG...Its showtime this week starting on Thursday. But rehearsals Monday thru Wed. So besides church, which just might be me and the girls, its going to be such a lowkey day...
My boy is in 4th, so I will go and hope for a good finish!!!

The Fourth of July
Today we ended up going to the parade. Elizabeth was picked up by 8:15, I ran and did some quick food shopping, then Jillian and I headed over to the parade. George is still sick, so it was a good time for him to rest..
This was my first Brandon 4th of July parade and I had a ball. Of course, Elizabeth was in it as well as some friends from Bell Shoals and my husband's boss, part of the Rough Riders...Here are our pics..Jillian sure did rack up some beads!!!
We left the parade about 11:45ish to go to our church for their annual Church Picnic....We saw quite a few of our church memebers, a good amount of the cast that was in the parade from Oklahoma went, and others from the parade....They had two bouncy things, a BBQ and it was a lot of fun, but exhausting for the girls....oh yea, me too!!! I was even able to get Elizabeth & Jillian all set with VBS....
When we came home it was the challenge to keep everyone awake. I wanted no naps so bedtime wouldn't be messed around with...So we jumped in the pool for about 2 hours...It felt sooooo good after being outside since 9:00 this a.m.
Now its time to chill down and have a relaxing night...Please keep your fingers crossed that the neighbors behave with the fireworks. My husband had actually hoped for showers so people in the neighborhood could not shoot them off...But now that it hasn't, we both might go in the pool after the kids go to sleep and watch the fireworks from there!!!

The Big Green Help
Elizabeth has turned into my little environmentalist...She recently saw and ad that helps kids understand the whole "green thing" and she wants to figure out how she can help...So I guess kids CAN get it....Very proud of her!!!! I added the link to my dashboard..
A Pain in the Neck
I have been nursing a terrible and annoying ache in my arm which has now traveled to my neck...Only one side because when this happens, it slowly works itself to the middle and the other side...It is very annoying and really though I am not sick, makes me feel horrible...Oh well....
Elizabeth is at the end of her cold, the same exact thing Jillian had. The only exception was we were able to avoid going to the doctor. Elizabeth has a strong resistance for fighting things if you just give her the time to ward off the germs...
This weekend we are having one of Elizabeth's friends staying with us....It will be fun for the girls...of course I have no plans yet. I realize that with friends, sometimes its better just to go with the flow...Sometimes they just need some down playtime and with the pool, I do not want to flood them with what I think they would want to do....even though kids really enjoy themselves with whatever.....
