Happy Mother's Day...

I have had the best day....My girls treated me like gold with homemade presents....Here are some of them...

And of course, ELIZABETH made me Coconut Shrimp with Orange Marmalade Sauce. She did the whole thing minus the deep fryer, which my husband did. It was very yummy!
My son (I never use the word step) surprised me with coming over and giving me roses and a gift certificate for a couple of pedicures...(Much needed and big thanks!)
I feel loved everyday, but its so nice to separate the hecticness of the day-to-day activities just to take a breather and reflect on how blessed I am....
Thank you George, for being the most loving and caring person, my best friend and partner in life and in raising our two beautiful daughters....
In addition, Elizabeth sang today in the choir for Mother's Day...

Spring Fling at Yates

This evening was Elizabeth's Spring Fling...They had a spaghetti dinner, book fair (which I just spent too much $$$ at), a recorder concert, the phys. ed teacher had relays, etc. and it was just a lot of fun. Elizabeth has her first yearbook, which I never knew they did. So she can bring it to school next week and get people to sign her book.

I took a good amount of pictures of Elizabeth with her friends, but thought I would just post one of her and one of Jillian....or should I call Jill, the newest Chris Evert...

George is gone for the night to Orlando for his job. Tomorrow there are two classes he needs to take and his boss and George went up tonight for a big fancy reception. Bad news, let me back up, he had his stitches removed today and by the way, test results were all good (the skin lesion). Well as he was getting dressed, boom, his scar, where the stitches just were removed, started to split a bit. He called the nurse on call and first of all, they cannot re-stitch him. There is nothing much then can do except for him to bandage it by pulling the skin together...almost as if you were stitching or lacing. So he's going to do that, did some sort of megshift first aid, put on his suit and is partying with the big wigs...
Both of my precious ladies are sleeping, which is no surprise...As soon as we walked in, I tossed around going in the pool or a bath...Well I didn't want the pool to work against me and wake them up, so a bath did the trick, a small bite to eat and it is 9:00 and all is well and quiet. So now I will watch a little TV and read a bit and it will be nighty night for me......

One more for the Gold

As some of you remember, Elizabeth received a Gold Medal for reading in December. Yates has two "Gold Medal" Ceremonies per year. I received a 2nd invite to the Gold Medal Ceremony today for next Tuesday. They do not tell you what it is for, but I can assume it is reading. She was put in a 1st grade reading group back in November and currently reading books at a 1st, sometimes, 2nd grade level. She loves reading and I can see that she is so far, following in Mommy's footsteps...

So Proud of you Bugaboo!!!

Here is her pictures in December~~~~~~~~~

Just one more thing......

This is going to short and sweet...I really have not read much of my emails, myspace things and blogs....But I went for Elizabeth's recheck on her ears, and call it the Temple luck, her ears remain mostly closed/clogged with the exception of a small pin hole in her left year. Her doctor will not flush them with the fear of the drainage in the one ear seaping through the tiny whole. So now we are going to have to go to the ENT and hope they can flush it out and treat with an antibotic if needed and avoid tubes. BUT, I know tubes are not a big deal at all, its just the principle of all the medical things we've one through just since January. But mostly it was Jillian, so now its Elizabeth's turn...Oy Vey and Good night!

Sunday Show

Well, Elizabeth did her show, "Perils of Paul" at church tonight. She had itchy eyes and a little bit of a nose issue, but she held her own and did great. She didn't want to miss this, not so much for the performance, but to see some of her close friends. Afterwards, we had a potluck dinner in the Fellowship Hall, which we always enjoy. Next year, Elizabeth will advance to the next group of kids, 1st through 5th graders and Jillian will join.

Jillian was very good tonight in Church. I was very pleased and proud that she sat there with minimal noise or talking. Go Jilly!

Here are some photo's of Elizabeth including her name on the "big screen".....

Well, its time to just relax and read for a bit...19 more days of school for Jillian and 21-1/2 more days for Elizabeth...Whoohoo!

I'm not alone......

Reading other's post, including you Elaine, the sickness just won't go away.

Elizabeth has been sick for over 2 weeks. With all the drainage, she has a hacking cough. Jillian has a nasty cold, nothing is clear that is discharging from her nose and she is sneezing and coughing. I've been coughing extremely hard myself, all weekend and pray I do not have bronchitis again. Its only been a month since I had that with the sinus infection....

Elizabeth really needs to go to school tomorrow and Jillian, well there is no urgency for her to be there except for my sanity....Poor Elizabeth has a big show at our church tonight that they have been rehearsing for since the end of January....In saying that, I think I am going to take a rest while Jillian is sleeping and Elizabeth should be resting, but isn't....

I hope everyone feels better and I do not mean to be cold by not posting individual comments...EJ, you need to get better, we have a Daytona trip to do soon!

Yay...its Friday

I had a very good day, despite Elizabeth's cold....We still kept our plans and went to Pump It Up with some friends, both from Jilly's school and from Church. Last time we were there, Jilly DID NOT like it...She was scared...But today...well let me just put it this way...She's my little wild child. She had a ball and had no fear of the slide or anything. George stopped by to see the girls since he was out of work early.

Had an eye doctor appt and then Elizabeth had rehearsal for her church choir. She has a show at church on Sunday, which is a bring-a-dish show. I love those....and then having the fellowship afterwards....

George made a delicious new dish called Leeky Linguine w/ Shrimp. I do not think he was as impressed as I was...It was great to me...Here is a pic...

Now doesn't that look yummy! Sometimes, he can be his worse critic....

Andrea and Melodie...you asked about Elizabeth...The drainage is really bad early in the a.m. and she has developed a horrible cough.... With Elizabeth, though, I am almost 98% sure its all from the clogging of the ears...I will know for sure on Tuesday...

Its time to relax, get the girls relaxed and watch some shows we taped...Have a great evening!!!
